Dependable Apartment Cleaners for Studios and Multi-Bedroom Units
Tidy Hands Cleaners provides apartment cleaning services for renters and condo owners across Austin. Our vetted, insured crews bring their own supplies and equipment and follow the entry instructions you leave at booking. With recurring plans, the same crew returns whenever possible, so the cleaners learn your unit and preferences over time.

Where Grime Builds Up First in an Apartment
In a small floor plan, the same few rooms take all the daily use. One bathroom often handles every shower in the household, so soap scum and hard water spots build up quickly on the glass, tub, and fixtures. In a compact kitchen, the range sits close to the backsplash and cabinet fronts, and cooking grease settles on both.
Other signs an apartment is due for a professional clean:
- Dust collecting on ceiling fan blades, blinds, and light fixtures.
- Baseboards and windowsills dulled by dust and grit.
- Pet hair on floors and furniture, which shows quickly when a dog or cat shares a studio.
- A move-out date on the calendar and a lease that ties your deposit to the unit's condition.

What Our Apartment Cleaning Services Cover
Apartment visits follow the same checklist we use across our top-rated cleaning services in Austin:
Kitchen: countertops and backsplash, stovetop, burners and control panel, the microwave inside and out, appliance exteriors, and the sink. Loading the dishwasher is included; hand-washing dishes is not.
Bathroom: shower and tub, the toilet inside and out and the floor around it, sink, counters, and soap dish, plus every mirror and glass surface cleaned and buffed.
Bedrooms and living area: cobwebs removed; light fixtures, blinds, windowsills, window frames, ceiling fans, furniture, and lamps dusted; mirrors cleaned; blankets folded, pillows arranged, and beds made.

Floors and trash: floors vacuumed, swept, and mopped throughout, with every bin emptied and given a fresh bag.

Add-ons: inside the fridge, inside the oven, interior windows, and inside the cabinets, booked as extras when you schedule.
Washing laundry is not part of a standard clean. Where clothing or clutter covers a surface, the crew cleans around it and notes it for you. See our room-by-room cleaning checklist for the full list of tasks.
Choosing a Standard, Deep, or Move-Out Clean
The right tier depends on how long the apartment has gone without a professional clean and what happens next with your lease.
| Clean type | Best for | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Standard clean | Routine upkeep, as a one-time visit or on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly plan | The standard checklist on every visit, with the same crew whenever possible on recurring plans |
| Deep clean | A first visit, or a unit that has gone months between cleans | Detailed work on soap scum, greasy cabinet fronts, and baseboards |
| Move-in/move-out clean | An empty unit before a lease starts or ends | Inside cabinets, grout and tile, baseboards and trim, with no furniture in the way |
Lease ending soon? Book move-in and move-out cleaning once you've moved out. We thoroughly vacuum carpets, but we don't shampoo or steam clean them, so hire a carpet specialist if your lease requires it.

How an Apartment Visit Works, From Gate Code to Lock-Up
Clear entry notes help an apartment visit start on time. When you book, list your gate or door code, lockbox location, and any alarm passcode. If a front desk or leasing office has to let the cleaner in, include what they need. Add parking directions too, since visitor parking is limited at many complexes.
You get a text before the crew arrives. If you prefer a particular cleaning product, leave it out, and the crew will use it.
When the checklist is complete, the crew locks up on the way out. If anything was missed, tell us, and the original crew will return to make it right at no extra cost.
Who We Send Into Your Building
In a building with shared hallways and neighbors on the other side of the wall, it matters who has your door code. Tidy Hands interviews every applicant and screens each one through a nationwide background check. Only about one in ten is hired, and all cleaners are bonded and insured.
Owner Riley Ohara built Tidy Hands around the complaint local families raised most often: cleaners who stopped showing up. Since 2021, the company has cleaned more than 500 Austin homes and holds a 4.9-star Google rating and an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. Customer reviews regularly mention punctual crews and clear communication before each visit.

Apartment Cleaning FAQs
Do I need to be home for my apartment cleaning?
No. Leave your door code, lockbox location, or alarm passcode when you book, and the crew follows those instructions. We keep your spare key or code on file with our office, not with individual cleaners, which keeps your home secure between visits. If you would rather meet the crew in person, tell us your preferred arrival window.
How much does apartment cleaning cost?
Pricing depends on the unit size, how often you book, and any extras, such as the inside of the fridge or oven, so recurring cleaning plans are priced differently from one-time visits. Enter your square footage, bedrooms, and bathrooms in the booking form to see an instant quote before you schedule.
Will a move-out clean help me get my deposit back?
A thorough move-out clean can improve your chances, but your landlord or property manager makes the final decision. Our move-out cleans focus on high-impact areas, including kitchens, bathrooms, baseboards, and floors.
What happens if I need to reschedule?
Canceling or rescheduling is free up to 24 hours before your visit. If you cancel or reschedule within that window, a $50 last-minute change fee applies, and a same-day cancellation costs $100. If you cancel a recurring plan before the second visit, you may be charged the price of a one-time clean.
Can you clean while my dog or cat is home?
Yes. We clean homes with pets every day. Pet hair works into upholstery, baseboards, and vents, so the crew vacuums furniture and wipes those surfaces instead of passing over them. Tell us at booking whether your pets will be home and whether they need to stay in one room.
